Donald B. Griffis, President
Mr. Griffis is the founder of W.A.R.N. (Wide Area Rapid Notification) and President since 2001. Mr. Griffis developed the process model for applying modified web-enabled multi-modal networks for rapid communication by the emergency response community -- specifically to facilitate affordable wide area rapid notification. Mr. Griffis was marketing consultant for the Atlantic Coast regional Cellular One wireless phone group, resulting in the recruitment of over 4 million new business clients in the region until the company was acquired and merged into GTE. In 1995, Griffis formed GCi Inc., to develop IT & communication solutions, conducting over 50 IT business development seminars with over 700 companies. Mr. Griffis has produced communication and marketing programs for 17 of the Fortune 500, including Delta Airlines, RJR, U.S. Steel, Gillette, Sara Lee, Nestle', Planters + Lifesavers, and others, representing national and international brands. In 2009, Mr. Griffis successfully completed a 2-year project with Livermore Distributed Technologies to integrate W.A.R.N. into the DHS FEMA HSEEP (Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program) certified training and exercise application delivered via web enterprise.
J. Larry Lowrance, VP – Operations and Client Services
Larry served at IBM for 30 years, beginning in Engineering and later moving into both manufacturing and finance. After an assignment in Corporate Manufacturing, he was involved in IBM’s Far East product acquisitions, and later international manufacturing management in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. He has extensive experience in people management, project management, business management and customer training and support issues. Larry directs the integration planning, training, and general operations management for the company.
Janet Buchwald, VP - Sales
Janet has been in business-to-business marketing and sales for over 25 years. She served at State Industrial Chemical, Cleveland, OH, in marketing and sales, and later as Marketing Manager with Corporate 500 Dexter Corporation. She established the American sales and marketing program for Joucomatic Controls, a French-owned manufacturer, and was recruited into Account Management with the Communication Alliance, and later as Marketing Director, Brick Association of the Carolinas, and formerly Marketing Director for Centric, a global leader in mining and materials heavy equipment.
John N. Autry, Chief Technical Officer
John has served as Team Leader for IT Project Management Services for some of the largest projects ever built for the Internet, including G.E. Plastics (Polymerland), Volvo Trucks NA, and Internet Security Systems (ISS). These projects involved extensive management and IT solution development services, working in concert with internal corporate IT departments. Other clients served by John in the last 27 years include communication and corporate development for Ingersoll-Rand and the NBA Charlotte Hornets. John is a specialist in IT project management and development, corporate communications, and goal-oriented team management.
Joshua C. Evans, Military Director
Josh is a native of West Virginia and is a graduate of The Citadel. He was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps in 1995, and was designated a Naval Aviator at Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi, Texas, in March of 1998. As a KC-130 Hercules pilot stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, CA, Josh participated in both Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), flying more than 400 combat sorties. During this time, Josh was also assigned to an infantry battalion as a forward air controller (FAC). In this capacity, Josh engaged in the ground campaign controlling air strikes during the initial push to Baghdad in early 2003. Leaving the active service in 2005, Josh became W.A.R.N.’s Military Director. His intimate knowledge of the needs of the DOD and US military services, and extensive project management skills, allow him to very effectively match demands with solutions for a variety of military and civilian emergency clients.
Mr. Robert “Butch” Evans – Senior Project Manager
Butch offers over 30 years of systems analysis and programming experience. His focus has been providing consulting services to privately owned Entrepreneurial businesses and governmental agencies. He has worked extensively in the planning, design, and enhancement of automated database systems. Butch has been involved in projects relating to the chemical, medical, wholesale foods, accounting, legal, judicial and education industries. His current position is utilizing his business skills in developing vertical market opportunities and technical solutions for rapid notification and associated business relationships.
Bobby B. Boggess - Director of Operations
Bobby received a B.B.A. in Management Information Systems in 1999 from Marshall University. He has worked in a variety of Information System positions including Database/Network Administrator, MIS Director, Senior Software Developer/Systems Administrator, and his present position as Director of Operations. Bobby has acquired his Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Microsoft Certified Application Developer in .NET (MCAD.NET)
James B. Seering - Senior Programmer/Analyst
Jim has over 32 years experience of system analysis, program engineering and customer support. He is knowledgeable of IBM mid-range computer systems and microcomputers. Jim has been involved with industry specialties in the areas of distribution, legal, judicial, and notification data warehousing. Jim’s years of experience have allowed him to not only design and program systems, but to follow through with the total implementation and support of those systems.
Ms. Karla Evans - Treasurer
Karla has over 16 years of experience in the retail and customer support areas. She is familiar with the computerization of enterprise financial systems. Karla maintains the in house financials for W.A.R.N. Support Services and integration with W.A.R.N. sales activities and provides support for computerized financial clients.
Bill Michael – Senior Account Executive
Bill has been involved for over 25 year with technical sales with broad experience in the consultative selling of technical products and services. He possesses skills in business development, mining accounts, and maximizing opportunity within those accounts. He is an excellent communicator and able to establish rapport and trust with clients and vendors, as well as present solutions in a way that focuses on customer benefits rather than just the technical aspects. Bill possesses a genuine care for client needs and objectives along with his win-win negotiation skills have contributed to a career history of on going success.
